Oprah: the World’s Best Boss?

Oprah Winfrey doled out Apple iPads and checks for $10,000 to the staff at her “O, The Oprah Magazine.” Why? She appreciates them! Listen up, bosses, and see how it’s done.

This isn’t the first time Oprah has shown her generosity toward her staff. She has reportedly rewarded staffers with Hawaiian vacations, cars and trips. The occasion for this most-recent gift-giving was the celebration of the magazine’s 10th anniversary, according to Advertising Age. The billionaire media mogul stopped by Hearst’s Manhattan headquarters and handed each staffer a new iPad with a personalized leather carrying case. And let’s not forget the $10,000 checks. It could not be determined how many employees were given the gifts, which, by the way, are taxable.

The daytime talk-show-diva-turned-corporation once famously gave away new cars to every member of her Chicago studio audience. The popular TV host is ending “The Oprah Winfrey Show” next year after 25 years as she sets up her own cable TV network, known as OWN.

Ferrari Expected To Unveil 599 Roadster At Pebble Beach

The Ferrari 599 has only been in production for about four years now, but it has already spawned a seemingly endless array of derivatives: the original GTB Fiorano, the track-focused 599XX, the all-conquering GTO, the tweaked HGTE, the China limited edition, the one-of-a-kind P540 Superfast Aptera and the HY-KERS concept. But before the model is replaced altogether, Ferrari is anticipated to unveil one last version at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this coming August.

Following in the footsteps of the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina and the 575M Superamerica, the 599 convertible will be a limited edition at the top of the Ferrari range. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of convertible roof mechanism the always innovative sportscar-maker employs for the exclusive roadster, but the company’s chairman Luca di Montezemolo says it will carry an “emotional, romantic name such as Italia or Fiorano”.

Microsoft Kinect Revealed: Project Natal Finally Gets A Name

What, a launch of November 2010 wasn't specific enough for you? Well, how about a Kinect launch of November 4? Microsoft just confirmed that's the day, and as of now it's looking like a worldwide launch. It will drop with 15 titles, including:

• Kinectimals - Nintendogs but with wild and impossibly cute animals
• Kinect Sports - Soccer, bowling, track and field games, a bit like Wii Sports
• Joyride - "Thrill of high speed kart racing, with the joy of controller-free gaming"
• Kinect Adventures - Jumping around and stuff
• Your Shape: Fitness Evolved - most amazing looking fitness game we've seen yet, from Ubisoft
• Dance Central - an actual, honest to gosh dance game without stupid pads -- from Harmonix

So far Your Shape and Dance Central are looking the best, but Microsoft is still showing us more, and we're thinking a few of you are going to like that Star Wars game from Lucasarts. Interestingly, no price was announced, meaning Microsoft seems to be waiting to see how many US dollars the competition decides to charge. Your Move, Sony.
